Cartons are another word for cardboard boxes, though not all cartons use corrugated cardboard (the zig-zagging inner core between two paperboard walls).

We recommend searching for free file boxes at Craigslist.org and FreeCardboardBoxes.com.

There are different types of boxes from milk cartons, to cereal boxes. What distinguishes moving and shipping boxes is their use of corrugation. That's the zig-zagging core within the cardboard walls.

This technology provides extra sturdiness and shock absorption and has risen to dominance as the most efficient and reliable way to ship and pack items.

You can even leave a note to the recipient stating, "Please continue to re-use these peanuts!"

The boxes are used in commercial manufacturing operations where they're kept clean and dry. Most of them have been used for transporting product parts from one factory to another.

When packing, moving, shipping, and storage items in boxes, you'll always need to secure the item with some kind of shock absorbent material. Bubble wrap is expensive and takes up a lot of space. If you spend a little time cutting segments of used cardboard, you can make spring loaded zig-zagging inserts that will keep your items from moving and maintain pressure to keep your item safely in place. Also, you won't need to fill all the empty space in the box, so you'll be using less.

Greening your gift boxes can go both ways. When you receive a gift, by simply saving and reusing the box you're helping to reduce demand for new boxes to be made and thus saving trees. When give a gift, rather than buying a new box to package the gift, look for a suitable used box from the recycling bin at your home, apartment complex, work, school, etc. Just the other day I met someone who said he's been adding to the fun of gift giving by packaging gifts in used boxes such as cereal boxes...

Storage boxes and Moving Boxes are basically the same thing. The only difference is their use. Rather than moving your stuff from one home or office to another, you're moving your stuff into a storage unit or other storage location.

We offer both moving kits and stacks of boxes so you can order a stack of boxes in specific sizes. If you're not moving and you just need to pack up some stuff to put in storage, you'll want to order a stack of medium, large, or extra large boxes.

The easiest way to make moving easier and greener is to throw a yard/garage sale. Chances are you have a lot of stuff that you either don't want, need, or will never use again. Set aside things that you may want to hand down to friends and family, then start sorting everything else into categories. Pick up some of those little stickers and price everything out.

Set a Sunday aside and promote it in the neighborhood and online at Craiglist.org, on your social networking accounts, etc...
